"Silver Brook Cottage"
This charming 5-bedroom village farmhouse has .6 acres of attractively landscaped yard, two useful outbuildings and many feet of frontage along Silver Brook, also
known as Gulf Brook.
A complete renovation and upgrade in 1995-97 provided five baths, one for every bedroom. It also included a spacious eat-in gourmet kitchen, a living room with fireplace,

The rest is devoted to dining and space for greeting guests. The workspace includes many lovely cherry cabinets (added recently) a 6-burner, flat top grill or broiler with 2 oven Garland Stove, an attractive 4X5 island with handmade Mexican tile, a Kitchen Aid refrigerator and dishwasher, and lovely red oak floors in the dining area. There are hardwood floors, as well, in the formal dining room and the living room. Divided light French doors separate the dining room from the living room and also from the library/media room. The baths are tiled and have attractive fixtures. Three of the bathrooms need finishing touches, including faucets, which are on hand, ready for installation. Other amenities include: Recessed lighting in several rooms, wainscoting in the dining room and living room, a large master bedroom closet with built in Cherry drawers and shelves, and a custom made fireplace mantle. One of the outbuildings is currently used for storage but could serve well as a garden shed, a summer studio, or a playhouse for children. It could, of course, be customized for other purposes. The other outbuilding is a one car garage with a storage loft. There is on site parking near the garage for at least four cars. Whiteface Mountain, home of the 1980 Winter Olympic downhill skiing events, is just 20 minutes to the north. Lake Placid, with its Olympic venues, excellent shopping opportunities and fine eateries, is only 20 minutes to the west. International airports at Albany, New York, Burlington, Vermont and Montreal, Canada are less than 2 hours away by automobile. Lake Champlain and ferries to Vermont are less than 40 minutes to the east.
